One of the primary reasons I founded Austen's Autistic Adventures is to combat loneliness. Today, our members will think about others who often suffer from a lack of friends and contact with the world. Today, we will gather at Half Price Books on NW Highway to make cards for the residents and small gift baskets too; in addition, each AAA participant will select a large print puzzle book or novel to include in the basket from the wide selection of titles in the store. Then, we will deliver them to the home, where my father-in-law resides in Plano, Hillcrest of North Dallas, on Valentine's Day. 

All supplies provided to make cards and fee for book is included in the event price, as well as some other small gift items, but feel free to bring donations you might want to personally include as well. Welcomed items include small nicely-scented hand lotions, warm socks, soap, shampoo, chapstick and hair brushes, tissues, and personal hygiene products.
