Grapevine Vintage Railroad to Stockyards *Special Sat Event!

  • Grapevine Vintage Railroad Depot 707 South Main Street Grapevine, TX, 76051 United States (map)

ALL ABOARD! Travel back in time as we take the vintage Grapevine Railroad and travel to Ft. Worth to explore the historic Stockyards, once the hub of much of the commerce of North Texas.

Before we embark, our group will explore the the model train exhibit, "located in the historic Grapevine rail yard area. The highly detailed dioramas features iconic and historic structures you'll see in Grapevine."

Then, we will "climb aboard an authentic 1920s Victorian coach for a train trip along the historic Cotton Belt Route that travels from Grapevine to the Fort Worth Stockyards.

The beautifully restored coaches are pulled by two vintage locomotives: "Puffy," the 1896 steam locomotive that just so happens to be the oldest continuously operating steam engine in the South. Then there's "Vinny," a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive.

Once we arrive, we will spend time exploring the various shops and attractions the Stockyard has to offer, including the challenging "Cowtown Cattlepen Maze" and seeing the herd of longhorns.

Snack and drink provided, but please send extra money if you would like to purchase additional food, drink, or souvenirs.
