Build a Bug Hotel

  • Austen's House 336 Candlewood Place Richardson, TX, 75081 United States (map)

First we will learn about the many different types of bugs in and around our yards and city: which are the good guys and which are the bad guys? We will use a "bug vacuum" to scoop some up and determine which "side" they are on!  Believe it or not, some bugs are very beneficial to our environment. For those good guys, we will build "bug hotels."  Using plant material from around the garden and a cedar box, we will create protected areas for bees, ladybugs, beetles, spiders, lacewings, and other good bugs.

Snack and drink provided.

Cost:  $25
